Daily walks are a creative habit integral to my studio practice whether I am home or travelling. By closely observing my surroundings, and taking hundreds of photos, I have a bountiful inspiration bank that informs my work. I also embrace the serendipity factor. From the dye pot, to the design wall, to the sewing machine, I am always open to the possibility of a glorious accident. Currently on exhibition in ART QUILT AUSTRALIA 2017.

Throughout last year we achieved a couple of bigger renovations around our humble home, so love the new kitchen. Of course these adjustments require clearing and packing up rooms then storing the stuff somewhere. My little studio filled and filled with various bits n pieces. As the studio filled my creative energy waned coming to a momentary standstill.

Sewing, knitting, crotchet, embroidery, refashioning, repurposing and generally exploring the creative. Thursday, 9 January 2014. While I was away with the boys last weekend Hubby decided to have a sort out of his wardrobe. He has a large, usually messy, collection of t-shirts, some close to 20 years old. There were about 7 that he decided were past wearing, so he put them with the rags. I rescued them from there for a bit more elaborate repurposing. I got the idea from this .

Welcome to my teaching and design website. An element of serendipity is integral to the art of quilt making. Even with the most meticulous planning, the fusion of colour, shape and texture through fabric and stitching yields often unexpected results.
